KUCHING: The celebration of Hari Raya continued on its sixth day with the Majlis Ramah Tamah Hari Raya Aidilfitri, which was organised by the Department of the Premier of Sarawak at the Atrium of the Sarawak State Assembly (DUN) building yesterday.
This event was organised to celebrate the civil servants who serve under the Sarawak Premier’s Department which comprises individuals from various races and religions.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang also attended the ceremony.
Throughout the event, 18 food stalls provided by units under the Premier’s Department offered scrumptious food and drinks for guests to enjoy.
One of the food stalls that garnered a lot of attention was the stall under the Integrity and Ombudsman Unit (UNION). This particular stall served authentic Indonesian food such as chicken soup and meat soup, which proved to be a hit with the attendees.
Additionally, the ceremony was enlivened with a band performance and dance by the Sarawak Arts Council (MSS). The event also included a lucky draw that offered a variety of prizes, including hampers and kitchen and electrical appliances.
Also present were the Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian and other distinguished guests.
