Taib, Raghad host breaking of fast in KL

KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawak Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib hosted the breaking of fast and prayers at the Berjaya Times Square Hotel here last night (April 14).

Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang were among the dignitaries who attended the breaking of fast and Tarawih prayers.

Other dignitaries who attended the event were ambassadors, federal and Sarawak cabinet ministers, Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki and his wife Datin Amar Baduyah Bujang, Sarawak Attorney-General Datuk Seri Talaat Mahmood Abdul Rashid, Sarawak Financial Secretary Datuk Seri Dr Wan Lizosman Wan Omar, heads of various departments and government agencies, and corporate leaders.

At the same night, Taib and Raghad gave away ‘duit raya’ to 50 less fortunate Sarawakians who are living in Kuala Lumpur in conjunction with the coming Hari Raya celebration.

Some 300 Sarawakians from all walks of life, mostly from the Klang Valley, also joined in the breaking of fast and prayers.

On Wednesday night, the couple also hosted the breaking of fast and prayers for family members and relatives who reside in the Klang Valley.
