KUCHING: In a move aimed at promoting the safety and prosperity of villages and neighbourhoods, 25 Community and Village Chiefs (KMKK) in the Demak Laut constituency have been appointed or reappointed.
The KMKK members, consisting of village chiefs, were presented with their respective appointment letters by Deputy Minister of Energy and Environment and Demak Laut assemblyman Dr Hazland Abg Hipni.
According to a press release issued yesterday, five members are new appointments and the remaining 20 are reappointments.
In his address, Dr Hazland urged the KMKK members to execute their roles and responsibilities successfully as the eyes and ears of the Sarawak government.
The presentation ceremony took place at Dr Hazland’s office in the Baitul Makmur Building, Medan Raya, here on yesterday (March 22).
