KUCHING: Police arrested a car theft suspect along Jalan Tun Razak here yesterday. (Feb 21).
Kuching OCPD ACP Ahsmon Bajah said the local suspect was armed with a sharp weapon, and sustained severe injuries while being arrested around 10.45am.
“The case is being investigated under Section 379A of the Penal Code for vehicle theft.
“It provides for a jail term of up to seven years, upon conviction,” he said.
He said the suspect has seven prior records related to drugs and other crimes.
Ahsmon advising the public not to speculate on the case pending investigation.
The suspect has been taken to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for further treatment.
