KUCHING: A new landmark in the state capital, the 14-storey LD Legenda SoHo Complex, located next to the Sarawak General Hospital at Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg, is expected to be completed by June next year.

Sprawling over  2.50 acres of prime land in the growing city, the complex comprises a three-storey basement car park,   two-storey commercial floors and nine fully-furnished SoHo floors.

Zhang Qiang, Marketing Director of the developer, Tianjin Liendak Holdings Bhd, said more than 90% of the over 560 SoHo units had already been sold. The luxurious commercial/residential units, fully furnished, come in three sizes : 250 square feet, 500 square feet and 750 square feet.

Zhang Qiang, Marketing Director of Tianjin Liendak Holdings Bhd, is an engineer.

Zhang said almost all of the units on the commercial floors had been taken up.

The complex is strategically adjacent to the busy Sarawak General Hospital which has about 4,000 doctors, nurses and staff. It is estimated that about 10,000 people pass through the hospital every day.

The SoHo building is also next to the Faculty of Medicine of University of Sarawak (UNIMAS).

The complex will have a swimming pool and a gym, apart from other modern facilities to provide comfort and convenience to the occupants and their guests, visitors.

There will also be a covered walkway to connect it to the Sarawak General Hospital.

Another unique feature is a retention pond, built to prevent floods which are not uncommon in Sarawak.

Zhang said although the complex was in a flood-safe location, the company still decided to build the retention pond as a safety precaution and to enhance the value of the property.

Zhang said almost all the workers were local and the materials used in the project were sourced locally as well.
