MATU: Respective village development and security committees (JKKKs) are advised to record the expenditure of their minor rural project (MRP).
In stating this, Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya said the report of the expenditure needed to be sent to the service centre to be recorded.
Having said that, he reminded the JKKKs to thoroughly discuss the needs of their respective areas, which can bring mutual benefit, so that the allocation given is spent appropriately and reasonably.
While pointing out that the JKKK is responsible for any activity that happens in the village, he said that any activities still need to be referred to the penghulu and informed to the district office.
“We do not restrict any activity, but it is necessary to inform the relevant people to get permission to ensure continuous harmony and the security of the village,” he said, as reported in the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) during his work visit around Matu district yesterday (Feb 3).
During the event, he also handed over a grant amounting to RM275,000 to 14 JKKKs and two mosque committees in Matu district for them to buy equipment and finance the needs of their respective JKKKs.
