KUCHING: Jeff Wong Zhe Ai and Fam Sin Mim received the best student award during the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Datuk Patinggi Haji Abdul Gapor graduation ceremony and awards presentation yesterday (Feb 3).
 
At the ceremony, Form 5 students who excelled academically and had leadership potential were celebrated.
 
According to a press statement today, the purpose of the event was to motivate the students to keep moving forward and strive for success in the future.
 
In addition, the occasion also helped to strengthen the relationships between the school and the community.
 
Various awards were also given during the event, including an award for improved performance in the science and humanities stream examinations as well as the best student award in the science and humanities stream subjects, which was presented by Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap.
 
The NILAM award, the exemplary leadership star award, the outstanding student award for both male and female students, and the best student award in the science and humanities stream were also given to deserving individuals.
 
During the event, Yap also presented a RM5,000 cheque as financial support for the ceremony.
 
The school’s principal William Tedong and the parent-teacher association (PTA) chairman Jamey Ngedat, were also present.
