SIBU: SibuJaya is already a successful township with a growing population of more than 30,000 people and it will continue to grow even bigger and better.
Wan Mohd. Yusop Bin Wan Moss, chairman of HDCam Sdn Bhd, the land owner for SibuJaya Township, stated this on Monday while chairing the board meeting comprising officials from the Housing Development Corporation and Amcorp Properties Berhad.
“The government and the private sector have worked very hard to turn SibuJaya into an award winning township and we are now beginning to see the fruits of this labour,” he said.
Such effort must be continued and stepped up several notches to ensure the people continued to benefit from SibuJaya’s expansion, Mohd added.
On the overall development, he said there were already around 6,000 houses in SibuJaya, with an additional 5,000 more homes to be built.
“Already, government services and offices such as health clinic, public library, police station, schools, market and private driven services and facilities such as banks, postal office, petrol station, huge supermarkets, food courts and many more have taken root in SibuJaya,” he said.
“The future is bright and exciting for SibuJaya. The people need to know that SibuJaya is not just another residential development. It is something that is so much bigger and grander.
“It is a township, meaning that it has everything or will soon have everything that the people need on a daily basis and it is also a township that is spurring the expansion of Sibu,”
Touting SibuJaya as a successful venture, Wan Mohd Yusop said he expected the township to be on the verge of the next leap in development as more public facilities such as the fire station, the new Sibu Rural District Council complex, a new mosque and privately driven enterprises were already in the works.
Also present at the meeting were HDC’s Deputy CEO, Mohd Yusof Mohd Ona and Amcorp’s Dato’ Che Md Nawawi bin Ismail.
