KUCHING: The appointment of MPs from Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) as deputy ministers will strengthen Sarawak’s influence in the federal government and result in additional advantages, said Datuk Sim Kiang Chiok.
The Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers’ Association (SHEDA) Kuching chairman said the advantages included increased financing or development allocation for the state to be developed and peaceful.
“In the spirit of the national unity government, Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Stakan Branch is of the opinion that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will possibly pick a SUPP MP to be in his deputy ministers list because SUPP has been the most maligned party by the Democratic Action Party (DAP),” he added.
