KUCHING: Centexs Commercial has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with seven strategic figures in conjunction with the launch of Juma’ani Pavilion on Dec 7.

Among the strategic partners are the famous fashion designer Professor Datuk Dr Jimmy Choo; Jeny Tjahyawati Academy; Danapuri (services and marketing); Halal Street UK; Sarawak Entrepreneurs Association (SEA); Sarawak Tourism Federation (STF); and the Islamic Tourism Centre (ITC).

In this regard, Premier Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said agreeing to sign the MoU proved that Juma’ani Pavilion has successfully attracted the interest of big names in various industries to participate and share their experience and skills.

“I am confident that, after this, the fashion designers and the local entrepreneurial community in Sarawak have a high ability to become international players based on the talent and benefits gained through the joint ventures we are doing today.

“Through Juma’ani Pavilion, the fashion industry in Sarawak is indirectly ready to place itself in the national and global market, thereby realising the efforts of the Sarawak government in further increasing the competitiveness of the creative economy.

“It also has the potential to provide new innovations in strengthening cooperation in the fashion ecosystem in Sarawak,” he said.

He said this in his text of the speech read by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas at the Juma’ani Pavilion Opening Dinner, at Vista Tunku Petra Jaya, near here on Wednesday (Dec 7).

For the record, the MoU exchange saw Centexs Commercial represented by its general manager Mohamad Shahren Yusri with representatives from other strategic partners.
