SARATOK: Three individuals including an elderly woman escaped with light injuries after the car they were in, swerved and plunged into a ravine at Krangan Krian, Jalan Saratok today.
It was reported that the accident happened around 2.10pm when the driver of the car and two others had exited a junction and crashed into a lorry that was moving straight.
A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Saratok station were promptly despatched to the scene after receiving an emergency call.
Upon arriving, they found that the car that was believed to have gone out of control had plunged into a ravine about 12 metres from the main road.
The victims aged 14, 50 and 85, managed to get out of the vehicle by themselves and they were lucky as they only sustained light injuries.
All of the victims were later taken to the Saratok Hospital for further treatment.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the team wrapped up the operation around 2.40pm and headed back to their station.
