KUCHING: Having the opportunity to vote for the first time in the 15th general election (GE-15) today clearly gave a sense of excitement to three siblings who went to vote as young voters.
Najla Qarllisha Omar Alli, 25, said that this GE has its own meaning for her because she could fulfill her responsibilities as a voter.
“Following an increase in awareness as a voter, I took the initiative to invite my sister to the polling station, early in the morning to prove that young people also have a big role in the democratic system.
“Today marks a historic day because it’s the first time for me to vote. A sense of relief from the responsibility of being a registered voter,” he said when interviewed by New Sarawak Tribune, here, today.
While for Nadya Qattrisha Omar Alli, 23 she is grateful and excited to have cast her vote today as a young voter.
“For other young people, go vote and never forget our trust to elect competent and sincere leaders to govern Malaysia,” she said.
As for their younger brother who is also a student, Nuzaher Qhussaen Omar Alli, 20, he is excited to go back to vote today despite the long journey home.
“I studied at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Shah Alam, and flew back to Sarawak to choose for myself the leader I want who is clean, has integrity and can serve the people,” he said.
