KAPIT : Bukit Goram State Assemblyman, Jefferson Jamit Unyat recently inspected a rural road project at Rumah Roland Bangau, Sungai Tisa Ulu Yong to see for himself its progress.
Accompanying Jamit were the contractor, Liew Hui Kiong, office helpers of PBB Bukit Goram Service Centre, Cochran Amos and Edward Manggah and members of the press.
The four- kilometre long earth road was newly completed by the assigned contractor. With the completion of the project, Rumah Roland Banggau is now connected by land to Kapit via Jalan Ulu Sungai Yong.
The travelling distance has been shortened to about an hour compared to about four hours previously by small boats navigating along Sungai Tiasa, Sungai Yong and Sungai Kapit.
The project was constructed under the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) with a scheme value of RM500,000.
Meanwhile, Tuai Rumah Roland Banggau, on behalf of the longhouse community, thanked Jamit and the government for the project.
