In order to face today’s challenges, each of us must have at least one skill.
In the past, the skill set was thought to be undervalued.
With the passage of time, skill areas have grown in importance and gained a place and high demand in educational institutions, as well as jobs with pay commensurate with their respective expertise and experience.
Employers today place a greater emphasis on a prospective employee’s skills and experience than on academic qualifications alone.
In fact, the majority of today’s job opportunities necessitate a workforce with high technical knowledge and skills.
Gold mine
It is not impossible that a ‘gold mine’ will be a fruitful outcome if you have skills in a specific field.
Most importantly, you must constantly improve your skills and learn new ones. Continue horning it until you become an expert in a particular field.
Now, the field of skills is no longer regarded as second-class because it is a national requirement for increasing the country’s income to the international market with skilled workers who can compete.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic that ravaged the world for two years, many people lost their jobs, and the majority of them attempted to broaden their skills.
Make it a starting point for a second career or the start of a successful business.
Choose a skill area
Skills like sewing, cooking, baking, makeup, spa, and traditional massage are in high demand because they result in good production.
Choose three areas for you to experiment with. Take a short-term course, try to digest, and have fun with the course.
If one of those fields makes you feel passionate and satisfied with the activity, as well as more creative with great ideas, then that is the field you should delve into deeply.
Then progress through the skill specialisation course from one level to the next. Most importantly, even if you are not an expert, you must continue to produce products based on what you have learned.
Take six months to consider all the challenges before taking the next step. This will help you understand your own strengths and weaknesses.
My message is to not change skills in a short period of time because it can cause you to lose the sharpness that will make you an expert in the field.
Don’t be afraid to begin at home and have fun. My area of expertise is sewing. What about you?
