MIRI: People aged 40 and above who have yet to undergo a health screening or did so a long time ago, must make it a point to go for one at health facilities nearest to them.
“Good health underpins our ability to enjoy life and live well, thus making time for a health screening is important,” said Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian.
“They can also do the health screening package under the PeKa B40 and Socso programmes,” he added.
He gave the reminder at the launching of the divisional level Health Malaysia National Agenda (ANMS) on Saturday. His speech was delivered by Mayor Adam Yii.
“ANMS is aimed at making healthy living and sustainable environment a culture, which supports the health well-being of the Malaysian Family,” he said.
Earlier , Yii led 200 participants in a 2km fun walk within the city centre in conjunction with ‘Miri Car Free Day’.
Also present were Miri Divisional Health Officer Dr Raviwharmman Packierisamy and Miri Hospital deputy director Dr Francis Heng.
