KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawak’s sepak takraw camp’s quest for silverware in the Sukma men’s team category came to an end after losing 2-0 in the quarterfinals to Terengganu.
The team coached by Fadlansyah Ibrahim failed to overpower their east coast counterparts and was defeated in both sets of the two matches.
The first match saw a score of 21-10 and 21-13 while the second match resulted in a 21-17 and 21-17 defeat.
Despite this, Fadlansyah commended his team for their efforts and hard work, “The players gave their best throughout the matches.
“However, we failed to compete with the greatness of Terengganu.”
He said the squad is now shifting its focus towards the doubles category scheduled for Sept 18.
