KUCHING: Winnie Albert, a well-known Iban singer from Sarawak, is taking centre stage after one of her song covers went viral on social media and even caught the eye of Malaysian celebrities.

Recently, Winnie was singing “Percayalah,” a song by Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, at Tabuan Dayak Smokehouse.

Malaysian actor and comedian Harith Iskander was astounded by her performance.

“Found this (Winnie’s performance video) on @dinozonefc’s TikTok account, and it gave me goosebumps.

“I did not know you before I saw this Winnie Albert, but you deserve to be a star,” said Harith in a post on his Instagram.

Harith also said that he would like to get in touch with Winnie and would love to feature her on a big show he has coming up.

“Her control, tone and raw talent is outstanding. Her power reminds me of the late Malaysian singer and actress Adibah Noor Mohamed Omar,” he said.

Meanwhile, Percayalah song composer, Ajai, also applauded Winnie for her performance of the song.
