KUCHING: The Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Youth wing has established four bureaus as a vital backbone in the implementation of its programmes and activities.
Its chief Miro Simuh said the four bureaus are programmes and activities organising bureau; economy and entrepreneurship bureau; social and welfare bureau; politics, membership, and communication bureau.
He said the bureaus were set up to coordinate the wing’s movements so that more programmes and activities can be implemented in reaching out as well as closely engaging with the people.
“The programmes and activities organising bureau will be headed by Tellian assemblyman Royston Valentine. He will be looking into planning and organising of programmes and activities relating to the party and youth among others throughout Sarawak.
“The economy and entrepreneurship bureau will be led by Tanjung Datu assemblyman Azizul Annuar Adenan. It is important to equip our youth who are interested with being involved in economy and entrepreneurship with the right knowledge.
“Meanwhile, Machan assemblyman Allan Siden Gramong will be heading the social and welfare bureau. It is a very important bureau in our efforts to be part of a caring society.
“As for the politics, membership, and communication bureau, Sibuti MP Lukanisman Awang Sauni is the most suitable to take the lead. The bureau plays important roles in instilling political values and maturity among the people,” he said.
He said this during a press conference after the first PBB Youth executive committee meeting at PBB Headquarters today.
The Serembu assemblyman said the politics, membership and communication bureau will be working closely with PBB Pergerakan Belia for youth aged 18 to 28.
He said PBB is still awaiting approval from the Registrar of Societies (ROS) so it could formalise its new wing.
He said the efforts and initiatives to approach and attract young voters do not only fall onto the new wing as the main wing, women wing and youth wing have their respective activities and programmes to reach the group.
“This is why we are always on the ground and conducting programmes relating to the youth so that we can attract them to join us.
“The politics, membership, and communication bureau will act a bridge between the new wing and the youth wing. The bureau will coordinate various programmes to inculcate understanding and maturity in politics for the new wing,” he added.
