MARUDI: A 40-year-old man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly threatening his former employer with a shotgun.
Marudi district police chief, DSP Mohd Ruslan Mat Kib said the suspect was nabbed after he had discharged a shotgun during an argument with his former employer inside a logging camp in Long Bedian on July 5.
“Initial investigations found that the incident was sparked by issues related to the suspect’s salary. Besides, he was furious after getting dismissed by his employer. Thus, he discharged the shotgun to threaten his former boss,” he said.
The victim (former employer) had lodged a police report while the suspect was nabbed and placed at Marudi police station lockup to assist investigations.
The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation.
