SIMUNJAN: The areas of Kampung Kelka here, will come alive with the second edition of Pesta Ujud on July 23 to July 24.
According to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), various exciting traditional sports activities and other events will be held including veterans football, fishing competition, slippery pole climbing, pillow-fight, kites competitions which are open to the villagers.
An organising committee member, Awang Ismail Awang Wahab said, among the objectives of the festival was to celebrate the 59th Sarawak Independence Day and make Pesta Ujud an annual event.
The 2022 Ujud Festival will be declared open by the Federal Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture and Batang Sadong MP Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri together with Simunjan assemblyman, Awla Dris.
