MIRI: A stray python measuring about four metre long was caught on Friday night in Kampung Abdul Rahman, Lambir, near here.

According to Miri Civil Defence force (APM) officer-in-charge, Captain (PA) Usman Harto, the reptile was first discovered by a 36- year-old woman after hearing her pets were making weird noise.

“The reptile was slithering on the middle of the road adjacent to her home that night,” he said yesterday.

Upon receiving a distressed call by the woman at 9.32pm, a team of Miri APM were deployed to the scene.

They arrived at the scene around 10.01pm and managed to capture the reptile in less than 15 minutes later. It was later released to its natural habitat farther away.
