MIRI: The breath-taking natural beauty of Gunung Mulu National Park has charmed and captivated visiting German Ambassador Dr Peter Blomeyer.
The Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) said the diplomat visited Gunung Mulu National Park for three days from June 19 to 21.
“His Excellency explored the show caves, namely Deer Cave and Lagang Cave. He also spent his time with the village headman and community of Kampung Batu Bungan,” SFC said yesterday.
The custodian of national parks and wildlife said Blomeyer was also impressed with the beautifully handcrafted pieces at the Batu Bungan Handicrafts Centre.
SFC deputy chief executive officer I Oswald Braken Tisen and park warden Mark Kuneiglibuan Tisen accompanied the ambassador together with the teams from Borsamulu and World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) during the visit.
