SIBU: An Indian national, who was first reported missing here seven years ago, was finally found safe by police.

This success came after the men in blue received a tip from an anonymous person.

According to Sibu district police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili, they received a tip regarding the whereabouts of the missing person, Sushil Singh, on June 12.

“Acting upon the tip, the police found the 27-year-old Indian, matching the description of the missing person report.

“Further investigation also discovered that the man is married to a local woman and he is well and looks in good condition. Therefore, the case is closed,” said the local top cop in a statement today.

Zulkipli also said that he had contacted the Indian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur that Sushil was safe from any harm.

Sushil is in Malaysia to work, and was reported to be last seen at Sibu Airport on June 3 in 2015.

His family in India lost contact with him and then contacted the Indian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur on June 15 in 2015 to search for him in the country.
