KUCHING: The Supermodel Borneo final on July 30 will also see several celebrities making an appearance.
According to a press statement, among them are actor Datuk Hans Isaac, fashion designer Bon Zainal, actress Nina Kho and bodybuilding champion Lilian Tan.
“Putri Ika, who is only eight years old, will take to the runway in a traditional costume and evening gown, designed by her father Shamsul Kipli.”
“We will have a series of fashion shows to create awareness and promote our local designer wear made using different local materials like pua kumbu and songket to tourists.
“There are approximately 50 finalists, hailing from places such as Kuching, Bintulu, Sibu, Miri and Sabah.
“The categories consist of standard, petite, hijab, plus size and drag queen, and each winner will get RM1,000 plus trophy and sash.
“There are subcategories such as best body male and female, best catwalk (overall), best eco dress (overall) , supermodel congeniality and supermodel most popular (based on ticket selling points), with winners pocketing RM500.”
