KUCHING: Swinburne Sarawak is offering financial schemes to 100 students from low- (B40) and middle-income (M40) families who are interested to enrol with the university.

The Yayasan Sarawak BP40 Bursary Scheme is offered to eligible Sarawakian Bumiputera students which allows them to enrol into their preferred programmes at the foundation, diploma, or degree levels with subsidised tuition fees.

The scheme is under the collaboration of Swinburne and Yayasan Sarawak and is limited to 100 students a year.

“The purpose of the scheme is to alleviate the financial burden of students from low- (B40) and middle-income (M40) family backgrounds,” the university said in a statement.

It said students who obtained the BP40 bursary were eligible to apply for a Yayasan Sarawak study loan to cover their remaining fees.

“The loan would also entitle students to a living allowance of RM4,000 annually for the duration of their studies.”

Moreover, students who are achieving a CGPA of 3.0 and above as well as 3.5 and above during graduation are entitled to 50 per cent and 70 per cent tuition rebates respectively.
