KUCHING: The state government, in the last five years have achieved a number of successes under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
Senior Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said Abang Johari’s accomplishments also included overseeing a number of challenges in terms of politics, economic and health.
“Congratulations to Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, in conjunction with his fifth anniversary of leading our beloved Sarawak.
“(The last) five years were full of successes and excellence despite various challenges particularly following the Covid-19 pandemic that affected the lives of the people and the economy of the state and nation,” he said in a Facebook post on Thursday (Jan 13).
Fadillah said the state government led by Abang Johari ensured the people of Sarawak were not adversely affected by the pandemic by channeling appropriate assistances.
“This amounts to RM5.3 billion to help ease the burden of the people and restore the economy through the Sarawakku Sayang Special Assistance (BKSS) 1.0 to BKSS 7.0 in 2020 and 2021.
The Petra Jaya MP also lauded the chief minister’s people-centric policies which were implemented throughout the latter’s tenure.
“Abang Johari has also implemented more than 100 initiatives for the well-being of the people with focus on holistic sustainable development, both in urban and rural areas,” he said.
Fadillah who is also the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) Parliamentary chief whip said the recent state election results reflected the people’s confidence in the state’s number one politician.
“The landslide victory of the GPS in the 12th Sarawak state election which saw it winning 76 seats is a manifestation of confidence in the leadership of Abang Johari.
“Congratulations again, may he be blessed by Allah SWT with lasting health to continue to lead Sarawak to greater excellence and success,” he said.
