SERIAN: Two men suffered light injuries in a two-vehicle collision along KM55, Jalan Kuching-Serian this morning (Jan 11).

Sarawak traffic police chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the incident happened around 8.40am when both vehicles—a Perodua Myvi and a Perodua Bezza—were travelling in opposite directions.

Investigation found that the Bezza — believed to be speeding and travelling from Serian to Kuching — went out of control before crashing into an electric pole and hitting the Myvi heading in the opposite direction.

“As a result, the Myvi ended up in a ditch on the left side of the road while the Bezza was facing sideways in the opposite lane.

“The drivers, aged 31 and 38, of both vehicles suffered light injuries and were pulled out from their vehicles by passers-by.”

The drivers were handed over to paramedics for initial treatment before being taken to Serian Hospital for further action.

Supt Alexson pointed out that it was cloudy and the road was wet at the time of the incident.
