KUCHING: Steady streams of people have been heading to the Aeroville integrated vaccination centre (PPV) near here for their Covid-19 vaccine booster doses since it commenced operations on Dec 6 last year.
Malaysian Red Crescent Society Sarawak Branch representative Joseph Teo said people from all walks of life came for vaccination at the PPV every day.
“The target for each PPV has been set and there are now about 900 people who turn up with MySejahtera appointments daily.
“The highest number so far is 1,300 a day,” he told reporters when met at the PPV located at Aeroville Mall here on Sunday (Jan 9).
He encouraged those who have not received their booster dose to come to the PPV for a walk-in vaccination appointment.
“We give priority to those who come for their appointments but the walk-in method has also been implemented so that more people get the booster dose.
“And we’re seeing more people coming directly (walk-in) here to get their booster doses,” he said.
Teo advised people who have to be inoculated to step forward and receive their vaccination.
“It’s about being able to protect the family, the community and being able to return to routine activities as usual,” he said.
The Aeroville integrated PPV will be operating from 9am to 4.30pm until Jan 15.
