144 single mothers receive food aid

MIRI: A total of 144 single mothers have benefitted from the Harmoni Miri Social and Welfare Club’s food basket assistance.

The event which was organised by Senadin Service centre took place at Miri Harmony Social and Welfare Club Center on Thursday (Sept 30).

According to Sarawak Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin, the club has assisted single mothers significantly in terms of their children’s welfare and education.

Lee expressed his gratitude to the chairman of the Harmoni Social and Welfare Club Connie Tang, for offering this kind of support every year.

He expressed his hope that the children who benefited from the club will also return the favour and practise giving back to the community in the future.
