KUCHING: The Sarawak Consolidated Industries Berhad (SCIB) jointly organised a Blood Donation Drive Programme with the Sarawak General Hospital Blood Bank (SGH Blood Bank) in conjunction with Malaysia Day.

The programme aimed to create public awareness about blood donation and address the blood shortage at SGH as well as emphasising SCIB’s culture of giving back to the community while also strengthening employee relations.

“We understand the donor’s reluctance to go out and donate during the pandemic.

“Our employees and donor safety is our main priority, so rest assured that we set in place the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to protect them.

“We have ensured that it is strictly implemented, such as taking body temperature of the donor before registering and maintaining social distance,” said SCIB chief executive officer Rosland Othman.

The programme was from 9am to 3pm, and the first 100 successful donors were given free goodie bags sponsored by SCIB.
