KUCHING: Democratic Action Party (DAP) Batu Kitang chairman Abdul Aziz Isa has been told to stop crying over spilled milk, that is, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) had decided to support for Ismail Sabari and his camp.
Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang in response to Abdul Aziz, who argued that GPS should ‘play the game correctly’ instead of begging for the return of Sarawak’s rights, said the oppositions missedg the chance to be part of the government when former premier Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin extended an olive branch to them.
“You missed the opportunity to cut a deal with the former prime minister who offered significant reforms in exchange for a confidence and supply agreement.
“Aziz, go and blame Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who refused to consider it because he thought that he had the numbers to win. It was a huge strategic blunder.
“Your own party leaders and Pakatan Harapan (PH) will have to live with the consequences and the knowledge that they facilitated Umno’s return to power,” he said in a statement today (Aug 24).
Lo said GPS is working out the best deal in favour of the state including restoring its rights under to the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).
“Before you start your blame away, look into the mirror. Whose fault is it? It’s not GPS but the oppositions. They know this but still put on a brave front and as usual, point their fingers at others so as to cushion their hurt and to ‘save face’.
“We want to work towards the betterment of Sarawakians to improve their lives and live harmoniously as one family despite our different ethnic groups and religions. We have succeeded so far living together and we want to continue doing so,” he said.
“Stop being theatrical and let’s fight the pandemic together. Our State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) has been doing well especially in ensuring the majority of Sarawakians are vaccinated so as not to fall seriously ill if tested positive.
“Our main job here now is to fight the pandemic and bring back a healthy economy for our people. Let us, GPS do that without any obstacles from the opposition,” he added.
