KUCHING: Hope Place founder, Kelvin Wan recently handed over Ensure, a special milk, and adult pampers to a disabled tube feeding patient with brain damage, Noryati Binti Karim,39.
Noryat’s husband, Safardy Bin Rusdee, received the gifts on her behalf. Sarawak General Hospital social workers asked Hope Place to help Noryati.
She needs to be fed Endure every three hours and requires 24-hour care. Because of that, her husband finds it hard to go to work. Their son works at a construction site and earns RM40 daily.They have two daughters, aged 11 and 14, who are still schooling.
They receive RM300 from the Welfare Department monthly. But the house rent is RM300 monthly. The family cannot afford to buy Ensure and pampers for Noryati.
