BINTULU: Four projects under the rural transformation programme (RTP) worth RM500,000 will benefit four longhouses in the Kakus constituency this year.
The four longhouses are Rumah Jiram Sain in Selitut Tatau (RM150,000); Rumah Janting Juat in Sungai Pamok Tatau-Bintulu road (RM100,000); Rumah Juni Linnyan at KM5 Tatau-Sibu road (RM100,000) and Rumah Das Nyanggau Lubok Bedil Sungai Kelawit in Tatau (RM150,000).
The RTP projects involve the upgrading of roads in these four longhouses.
According to Native Laws and Customs Assistant Minister Datuk John Sikie Tayai who is also Kakus assemblyman, the projects are expected to kick off soon within this month.
Sikie said this on Monday after conducting a visit to the villages.
Also present were Acting Tatau District Officer Calvin Ligong and Assistant Engineer of the Public Works Department Bintulu Division (JKR) Ngu Tie Hua.
