MIRI: More than half of the food traders and their workers in this city are vaccinated, said Miri Division Disaster Management Committee (MDDMC) minister in charge Datuk Lee Kim Shin.

“Based on reports by Miri City Council (MCC), 93 percent of food traders and their workers have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

“From that, more than half have received their second dose,” he said during a visit to Tamu Muhibbah on Sunday (July 18).

During the visit, MCC officers were also present to assist those who have not been vaccinated yet.

Lee and his entourage were also visited Senior Citizen Street where they learned that almost all the traders there have received their second dose of the vaccine.

Accompanying Lee during his visit were Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Sebastian Ting; Miri mayor Adam Yii; Miri acting Resident Jamalie Busri; Miri Hospital director Dr Jack Wong and MCC secretary Morshidi Fredrick.
