KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, accompanied by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, performed the Solat Sunat Aidilfitri at Masjid Jamek in Petra Jaya on the first day of Hari Raya yesterday (May 13).
They arrived at the mosque at about 7.50am and were welcomed by Sarawak State Mosques Welfare Trust Board (LAKMNS) chief executive officer Datuk Abang Abdul Wahap Abang Julai and other members.
Sarawak Grand Imam Datuk Mustapha Kamal Ahmad Fauzi led the Solat Sunat Aidilfitri, while the sermon was delivered by state Mufti Datuk Kipli Yassin.
Throughout the prayer sessions, it was conducted in accordance with guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to curb the spread of Covid-19.
