KUCHING: Sarawak recorded four new Covid-19 fatalities on Tuesday (May 4), bringing the state’s death toll to 188.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the 185th death was Case 29,509, a 57-year-old local woman who was referred to Bintulu Hospital for breathing difficulties.
“A reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (rT-PCR) test was done and it returned positive on April 28.
“Her health deteriorated and she passed away on May 2. She had high blood pressure, diabetes and dyslipidemia,” SDMC said in its daily Covid-19 update.
The 186th death was Case 26,131, a 78-year-old local woman referred to Bintulu Hospital for fever, cough and breathing difficulties.
“She was admitted following her RTK Antigen and rt-PCR test which came back positive on April 22.
“Her health deteriorated and she was pronounced dead on May 2. The case had comorbid obesity.”
The 187th death was Case 24,409, a 53-year-old man referred to Miri Hospital for fever, cough and breathing difficulties.
The case was admitted following his positive rt-PCR on April 19.
“His health deteriorated and he was pronounced dead on May 3. He had high blood pressure.”
Meanwhile, the 188th fatality was Case 25,496, a 44-year-old local woman who was admitted to Sibu Hospital for cough, sore throat, fatigue and breathing difficulties.
“Her RTK Antigen and rt-PCR test screening tests came back positive on April 20.
“Her health deteriorated and she passed away on May 3. She had high blood pressure, heart disease and asthma.”
