Six more longhouses under EMCO

KUCHING: Six longhouses will be placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO), announced by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) on Monday (May 3).

It stated that the EMCO would be enforced at Rumah Ukam, Nanga Engkamop in Julau; Rumah Sibat, Penurin in Betong; and Rumah Robert, Ulu Paoh in Sarikei.

Meanwhile, the EMCO will be extended at Rumah Mut Nanga Maiong, Sungai Mujok in Julau; Rumah Malong, Sungai Melaban, Sare in Sarikei; and Rumah Nyawin, Sungai Rian, Bintangor in Meradong.

“The EMCO at Rumah Ukam, Nanga Engkamop is from May 1 to May 14 while at Rumah Sibat, Penurin, it is from May 5 to May 17.

“Rumah Robert, Ulu Paoh will be placed under the EMCO from May 5 to May 11,” added SDMC in its statement.

The committee also announced the extension of the EMCO at Rumah Mut Nanga Maiong, Sungai Mujok from May 3 until May 9; Rumah Malong, Sungai Melaban, Sare (from May 4 to May 10), and Rumah Nyawin, Sungai Rian, Bintangor (from May 4 to May 17).

SDMC also declared the end of two clusters in Meradong — the Sungai Mupong cluster and Tanjung Genting cluster — after they recorded no new case in the past 28 days.

“The state now has 76 active clusters; 14 of them had recorded 62 new cases,” it added.

The committee said today, there were 24 red districts, four orange districts and 12 yellow districts in the state. There were no more green zones in Sarawak.
