MIRI: A nine-foot-long (about 3m) crocodile was caught by the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) in Sungai Raan, Bakam here on Thursday (April 8).

A SFC spokesperson said the saltwater crocodile was caught at about 8am by SFC’s Swift Wildlife Action Team, better known as SWAT, using a fishing rod.

“The Miri SFC office received a complaint from the public on Tuesday (April 6) about a crocodile spotted on the riverbank, and immediately began an operation to catch it.”

A sample was taken from the reptile for tagging purposes before it was sent to Benaya Farm in Kuala Baram.
