KUCHING: A disabled person suffered burns on the shoulder in a fire which razed two houses at Kampung Sungai Midin, Petra Jaya last Saturday night (Apr 3).
Firemen from Petra Jaya and Padungan stations were despatched to the scene upon receiving a distress call about the fire at 10.55pm.
Upon arriving, the teams found that the single storey houses were already razed to the ground.
All eight residents managed to get out to safety. However, the disabled person suffered minor burns on the shoulder while trying to escape the blaze.
The victim was given early treatment at the scene before being taken to the hospital for further treatment.
The cause of the fire and losses to properties have yet to be ascertained.
