KUCHING: The Bung Bratak Heritage Centre will reopen next Sunday after months of closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, Bung Bratak Heritage Association (BBHA) chairman Datuk Peter Minos said only day trips would be allowed.

“There will be no overnight stays, camping, group meetings, and conferences,” he said on Saturday.

He said all visitors must strictly comply with the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee’s (SDMC) standard operating procedures (SOPs), such as wearing face masks, undergoing temperature checks, and registering their details.

“Bung Bratak’s staff members will dutifully enforce the SOPs,” he assured.

He said while the centre welcomed day-trippers, trekkers, and visitors, everyone must strictly adhere to the government’s anti Covid-19 regulations as a united effort in combating the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Once again, trekkers and visitors can have a good and happy time at this famous mountaintop historical ecotourism site.

“They can enjoy the jungle mountain walk, beautiful fresh air, spring water, Bidayuh cultural centre of longhouses and baruk, jungles, flora, fauna, and so on,” said Minos.
