SIBU: Failure to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) under conditional movement control order (CMCO) resulted in six business owners being slapped with a RM1,000 fine each.
Sibu police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the premises were compounded last Saturday during a CMCO SOP compliance monitoring by enforcement personnel at three locations.
The operations led by ASP Kushairy Bujang with 20 enforcement personnel from various agencies, began from 10.30am until 2pm and a total of 14 premises at Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, Jalan Mission and Jalan Channel were inspected.
“The teams found that six businesses did not have the MySejahtera application, temperature scanner and customer logbook at their premises.
“Failure to display the said items is also an offense under Regulation 18 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (No.4) 2021,” he said.
Stanley said they will not compromise with such mistake and will continue to issue the compound.
Despite being reminded many times, there are some who still disobeyed the rules.
Hence, the business community are reminded to comply with the CMCO SOPs that has been issued previously to avoid facing any compounds. He added that it is also for their own and their employees’ safety.
Enforcement personnel are seen carrying out inspections to check whether CMCO SOPs are adhered with.
