KUCHING: Firemen managed to persuade a woman in her 40s from attempting suicide at Jalan Simen Raya Bridge, Tabuan Jaya yesterday.
Passers-by who spotted a woman standing outside the bridge barrier in a suspicious manner around 10.40am, reported the incident to the Tabuan Jaya fire station.
A team deployed to the scene managed to calm the woman down and brought her away from the bridge.
The woman was later handed over to the police for further action.
It is not known what brought the woman to her predicament.
