MARUDI: A Huawei brand tablet owned by a teacher was recovered with the arrest of two men based on intelligence and information obtained on the house break-in case on 27 October.
Baram District Police chief, DSP Gabriel Risut said the arrest of both men aged 19 and 21 years old from Kampung Narum Marudi Village by crime prevention patrol unit was led by Corporal Suwardi Saibi at Jalan Lim Ching Kiat. Gabriel told from investigation, the two suspects admitted stealing the item on 27 October.
Both of them were taken to Marudi police station and would be charged under Section 457 of the Penal Code. Gabriel stressed the success of this arrest was the result of community cooperation with the police thanks to the policing community activities carried out in Marudi recently.
Hence, local communities should take advantage of all police community programmes held in their areas so that information can be channelled during the dialogue.
