KUALA LUMPUR: Smallholders can claim for the Rubber Production Incentive (IPG) based on their October 2020 production, said the Malaysian Rubber Board.
It said the payment in the peninsula is 10 sen per kg, while for Sabah and Sarawak, it is 40 sen and 35 sen per kg, respectively.
“Last month, the average farm-level price per kg of cup lump was RM2.40 for the peninsula, RM2.10 for Sabah and RM2.15 for Sarawak,” the board said in a statement today.
The smallholders have until the end of this month to make their claims.
Starting January last year, the IPG was activated if the average monthly price of SMR 20 free on board (FOB) grade rubber is at RM6.10 per kg or the farmgate price is RM2.50 per kg and below.
The activation of the IPG provided by the Federal Government is meant to help rubber farmers in the country, including those in Sabah and Sarawak, when the price of the commodity is low. – Bernama
