KUCHING: Police have issued a total of 51 compounds to errant individuals for failing to comply with Covid-19 standard operating procedure (SOP) in public places.
Kuching recorded the most compounds with 46, followed by two each in Miri and Sibu, and one in Betong.
“Apart from that, the Ministry of Local Government issued 55 verbal, written, and seizure warnings in areas under the supervision of various local councils,” said the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).
On SOP compliance monitoring, patrol teams inspected 1,331 premises throughout Sarawak.
These included 265 restaurants, supermarkets (175), banks (115), public markets (61), places of worship (48), leisure places (38), government offices (37), hawker stalls (28), construction sites (15), factories (12) and others (537).
Some 899 vehicles were inspected at six roadblocks under Ops Benteng.
