KUCHING: Liew Tau Siang, chairman of the East Malaysia branch of a ‘Chi Kong’ society to help people to regain youth is determined to use his experience and knowledge to assist people in Sarawak to live a healthy life and regain hope if they suffer from cancer.

He said that the youth-regaining “Chi Kong’ was a combination of several healing qualities, techniques derived from 7,000-year-old Yang  Yang Tai Zhi System, the Tao philosophy, yoga practice and Buddhism spirit. It is a healing art which has been developed based on ancient saints’ life styles and spiritual practices.

He said the art’s inventor, Master Chai Liang Ann, has spent a long time to study martial arts, ‘Chi Kong’, yoga and Tao’s practices. The master, he added, has also studied in-depth the natural healing process and energy. As a result of these efforts, Master Chai realised that modern people badly needed an effective healthy method to maintain their physical and mental well being. He therefore carried out intensive research and study, and by combining the arts of various practices, modern medicine, physiotheraphic sciences and other proven scientific methods, invented the simple, easy-to-learn and effective exercise.

Apart from alleviating chronic illnesses in a short time, the art can also make people feel happy and for them to regain love and meaning for life.

Mr Liew said every morning, many practitioners of the art can be seen in cities, towns and villages of many countries.

Ten years after its invention and promotion, the youth-regaining ‘Chi Kong’ is now practised in 10 nations. There are 530 such practising places in Taiwan where the art was invented, 50 in West Malaysia and 16 in East Malaysia.

Those in East Malaysia are in MBKS garden, Malaysia-China Friendship Park, Mile 10 Jalan Penrissen, MJC Batu Kawa, Bintulu, Sibu, Sarikei, Miri, Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan. There are also several in Brunei.

Mr Liew said apart from its healing qualities, the art is also good for everyone for keeping fit.

He said for maximum benefits, the best time to practise is from 5.00am to 7.00am. After 7.00am, he added, the morning sunlight will be good for the body. He said it is best to drink two glasses of warm water before exercise to improve body warmth.
