MIRI: Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau applauded frontliners in his constituency for their dedication in combating the Covid-19 pandemic.
Speaking at an appreciation night gathering held in Long Lama on Friday , he said frontliners have shown their full dedication to ensure that the virus is contained.
Although more than 800 people were at the event, known as ‘Pekeluan Melu RTM’, all attendees strictly adhered to the standard operating procedures (SOPs).
The event also was held to mark the fifth anniversary of the Telang Usan district office.
“They have sacrificed their own lives and personal safety for the interest of the public,” he said.
Various representatives from agencies such as the police, People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela), Telang Usan district office, RTM, Information Department, and Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) as well as community leaders attended the event.
“We owe our frontliners an eternal debt of gratitude and we shall continue to pray for your safety.
“Together we are stronger and we shall overcome,” he said.
