STATE AWARDS RECIPIENTS
KUCHING: Education, Science and Technological Research Minister Datuk Seri Michael Manyin Jawong headed the list of state honours and awards in conjunction with Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud’s 84th birthday.
He would be conferred the Datuk Amar Bintang Kenyalang Award (DA), which carries the title ‘Datuk Amar’ during an investiture ceremony at 11.30am today.
Other recipients are Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali and proprietor of Mohammad Ali Motor Co. Sdn Bhd Datuk Sri Mohammad Ali Mahmud.
Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi, Katibas assemblyman Datuk Ambrose Blikau and Armed Forces commander General Tan Sri Dato Affendi Buang will receive the Panglima Negara Bintang Sarawak (PNBS) award, which carries the title ‘Dato Sri’.
Assistant Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Rosey Yunus and State Federal Secretary Mohd Shahabuddin Omar received the Panglima Gemilang Bintang Kenyalang (PGBK), which carries the title ‘Datuk’.
Minister in the Cambodian Prime Minister’s Department, Oknha Datuk Dr Othsman Hassan, was conferred an honorary PGBK.
The Darjah Jasa Bakti Sarawak (DJBS) award, which carries the title ‘Datu’, was conferred on State Enforcement and Security Unit director Datuk Dr Chai Khin Chung, State Human Resource Unit director Ismail Mohamad Hanis, State Transport Ministry director Buckland Bangik, Majlis Adat Istiadat Sarawak director Ronnie Edward, Bintulu Development Authority general manager Rodziah Morshidi and Syariah Court judge Awang Suhaili@Suhaidi Ledi.
Nineteen others, led by Malaysian ambassador to The Holy See, Westmoreland Edward Palon, received the Panglima Setia Bintang Sarawak (PSBS).
Others are State Public Service Commission director Chai Moi Fong, Dr Jamilah Hashim, Ahmad Yusoff, Sim Kiang Chiok, Azizi Morni, Dr Madeline Bema, Ahmad Shafiee Yaman, Tan Guek Kee, Tan Joo Phoi, Datin Amar Doreen Mayang@Doreen Lee Mei Hua, Puan Sri Datin Amar Corinne Bua Nyipa, Dr Philip Raja, Michael Sim Kiam Hui, Keripin Nangkai, Temenggong Ang Keng Su, Bobby Ting Sie Ching, Awangku Jawa@Pengiran Jawa Pengiran Amzah and Ting Choon Hua.
