SERIAN: Class D, E and F contractors should strive to seize government projects under the rural transformation programme (RTP) and minor rural projects (MRPs), said Assistant Minister of International Trade and Industry, Industrial Terminal and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais.

According to him, with a total of RM8 million for both projects, they can provide about 60 to 100 projects, depending on the number of projects obtained by each elected representative.

“Our contractors still have the opportunity to get contracts for Sarawak government projects (through the allocation given to each assemblyman) although, many Barisan Nasional government projects have been cancelled by the Pakatan Harapan government.

“Apart from the RTP and MRP projects, contractors can also grab the Sarawak Home Repairs Programme for the Poor (PPRMS) project where Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg has allocated RM1 million for each state constituency held by GPS assemblypersons to carry out the projects,” he said at the Symposium for Contractors, which was officiated by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan at the Roxy Hotel here, today.
