Ministry to promote tourism products in Simunjan

SIMUNJAN: There are many interesting places in Simunjan which can be transformed into tourist attractions, said Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri.

She said the ministry was willing to collaborate with the local community to promote the products in Simunjan so that more tourists would visit the area.

“While we share the products that we have, at the same time it can also boost the socio economy of an area,” she said when presenting grants to mosques and surau in Batang Sadong on Saturday.

Nancy, who is Batang Sadong MP said among the items that could be promoted included unique places, traditional food, arts and cultures of the local people.

“In this area, we have people of different races and religions living together, this can also be promoted as a unique product,” she said.

At the event, Nancy presented 72 Al-Quran including cheques to nine mosques and nine surau in Simunjan area.
